Naofumi Hataya

From Sega Retro

Why Naofumi Hataya is not the same person as Masayuki Nagao

-Masayuki Nagao originally worked for Santos alongside Hirofumi Murasaki and Morihiko Akiyama. -In December 1991, Santos became a wholly-owned subsidary of Sega and was renamed Megasoft. ( http://gdri.smspower.org/wiki/index.php/Whiteboard/Santos/Megasoft) -Naofumi Hataya joined Sega in 1990 (http://sega.jp/segavoice/vol08/). -Shinobi III, one of the games credited to Nagao, was developed by Megasoft (http://www.sega-16.com/forum/showthread.php?t=6649&page=3).

-After leaving Sega, Nagao continued to work on other games such as Bubble Bobble Evolution [under "Direction"] (http://www.allgame.com/game.php?id=50672&tab=credits) and Rainbow Islands Evolution [under "Story" and "Music"] (http://www.allgame.com/game.php?id=62953&tab=credits)

He has also play keyboard at a birthday concert for the singer Saeri on December 8, 2007 (http://jazz-musician.jp/yamaguchi/schedule/sch200712.html) (http://meme.cclub.cc/info-2007.htm) [search for 長尾優進] and is credited in hiragana in Utautau three times. http://vgmdb.net/forums/showthread.php?t=3515 [Post #7]
