Echidna was a video game development company founded in 1989, in California, by programmer John Alvarado after graduating from University of California (UCLA) with his old friends and school colleagues, Gregg Tavares, Greg Marquez, Ron Nakada and Dan Chang. The company is known for creating TUME, a versatile map editor, wich was licensed to many video game development companies in the early 90's.
