BRIO AB[1] is a Swedish wooden toy company founded in 1884, and is most famous for their line of wooden trains which have been selling across the continent since the 1950s.
BRIO was a distributor of Sega products in Scandinavia during the 1990s and early 2000s (distribution was managed by its division PlayMix[2]). They began by taking over Swedish distrubtion from Dennis Bergström in 1990, before gaining the rights to distribute products in Finland in 1991, Norway during the mid-1990s and Denmark in 1999. Since this brief stint in the video game industry, the company has returned to producing, marketing and distributing traditional toys.
