Mario 4: Space Odyssey or A Space Odyssey is a Russian bootleg. Made by the same Russian company that made the Felix bootleg and many more unlicensed bootlegs for the Genesis, BMB.

[1] (This is a pic of the gameplay).

The game's plot is confusing. It's basically a Mario Galaxy wannabe but it fails. I'm going to quote another bootleg research site I found and then saw the plot. This is the plot. "Mario 4: A Space Odyssey's plot has Mario and Luigi watching the stars until a star crashes onto the ground. An Alien creature (despite the intro depicting multiple Shroobs from Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time, the text only states one) warns Mario and Luigi about an oncoming threat and that they need to stop the conqueror of galaxies with their army. (However, in-game there is no army that fight alongside Mario and Luigi)."- bootleggames.fandom on their research of the Mario 4: A Space Odyssey bootleg.

Confusing, right? Well, guess what, since they're the same developers as the Felix bootleg, that Mario 3 bootleg and many more. It needed to have those stolen infamous Continue/Game Over screens.

Basically, the Continue screen is stolen from an art someone made. And it shows Mario being face-hugged by a Blooper while a Pirahna Plant comes out of its chest, referencing the famous movie Alien. We have the infamous "AA" and "HET" options, which mean: "Yes" and "No".

And the Game Over screen. [2] (Both Continue/Game Over screens).

And again, the Continue/Game Over screens are stolen from an art a person made.

These games are also infamous for its gameplay itself, according to the same site I quoted on the plot part. It's a hack of another infamous bootleg. Mario 3. Mario's sprite is quite well though, but the controls are frustrating as hell because they're bad, and Mario floats a freaking lot. I don't have a copy of the ROM to post it on here but if someone does, you can post it in here.
