Mystical Fighter
System(s): Sega Mega Drive
Publisher: JP Taito US DreamWorks
Developer:
Genre: Action

Maou Renjishi (魔王連獅子) is a 1991 Sega Mega Drive beat-'em-up by Taito. For some reason, DreamWorks published the game in the US under the name Mystical Fighter, removing Taito's name and completely changing the title screen animation. At least two sources actually credit development of the game to KID — this has yet to be confirmed (TODO).

The game is a typical beat-'em-up — whatever story is behind the game is not in the game itself. A attacks, B jumps, and C performs a magic ability, with several combination moves in between. You can pick up and use weapons like in Streets of Rage by pressing A while near one.
