Cheat mode

During the intro, hold when the Sega logo fades out. Release and hold when the Game Arts logo fades out. Release and hold when the Gainax logo fades out. Release and press  START  when "Music composed by Mecano Associates" fades out. A sound will confirm correct entry.

Now, during gameplay, press on Control Pad 2 to freeze the game, and press it repeatedly to advance one frame for each press. Press on Control Pad 2 to resume the game to normal speed. If certain buttons are held on Control Pad 1 when unfreezing the game with Control Pad 2, additional effects will happen:

• - Refills HP.
• - Levels up Alisia's lightning attack.
• - Levels up the dragon.
• - Unleashes hyper lightning (destroys all on-screen enemies and bosses in one hit).
• - Enables invincibility (Alisia will still lose HP but cannot die).

Stage select

During gameplay, press on Control Pad 2 to skip to the next part of the current stage. Alternatively, hold one of the following button combinations on Control Pad 2 when the screen fades to black to warp to a specific stage:
