WiZ Co., Ltd, sometimes credited as WiZ Inc, was a Japanese toy production company and video game developer. Founded in 1986 by former Bandai employee Akihiro Yokoi, the company is perhaps best known for producing the original Tamagotchi and Digimon virtual pets.
In September 2006, the company became a fully-owned subsidiary of Bandai, and in April 2019, it was formally merged into toy producer Plex.[1][3]
