SoA being a rough but valuable experience
So this is something that I've been thinking about recently: A lot of former SoA people look back on their time with SoA in special ways, and in ways that stand out in relation to their other work... this is something I'll swing back to but the rough vibe I'm getting is "SoA was a rough and tumble experience with a lot of uphill battles and doing stuff they've really never done before, but dang it was one of the most valuable learning experiences I've had.
The reason I bring this up is this awesome quote from Smith's LinkedIn: "SEGA taught me more in three years than I could have learned in a lifetime elsewhere. Given the opportunity to work there based on my strong knowledge of games, excellent communication skills, and professional work ethic, I continued to use those qualities as a foundation upon which I built PR presentation skills, marketing savvy, out-sourcing management, competitive research, detailed concept evaluation, licensing strategies, custom event-planning, and innovative use of media. It was an honor to contribute to more than 20 titles in my three years there. I will always have fond memories of "The House that Sonic Built.""
