Pikachu's movement speed

As a possible oversight, Pikachu's movement speed when walking left is faster than his speed when walking right. This also occurs in Pocket Monster II.

Not fixed in any version.

Pikachu's jump height

Pikachu can only control his jump height by holding C for different periods of time when the D-Pad isn't pressed. If any directions are pressed while lightly tapping C, he will always jump at his maximum height, and will immediately stop gaining height if the D-Pad is let go. This makes it difficult to dodge certain enemies in some situations. This also occurs in Pocket Monster II.

Not fixed in any version.

Double jumping from an enemy

After stomping an enemy or when taking damage, it is possible for the player to perform a mid-air jump by pressing C before Pikachu reaches the apex of his bounce. In some places which involve vertical platforming, this can be used to take shortcuts. This also occurs in Pocket Monster II.

Not fixed in any version.

Drop through platforms

Big mistake.

As a byproduct of the jump height bug above, it is possible for Pikachu to drop through most floating platforms by performing a short hop with a light tap of C. This could be used if the player needs to get down quickly, but can be very dangerous on platforms over bottomless pits. This also occurs in Pocket Monster II.

Not fixed in any version.

Disappearing platforms and enemies

Something's missing.

What should be there.

Moving objects, such as enemies and especially platforms, can disappear if they go too far off the screen from their starting positions, usually as a result of the camera's finicky positioning when facing left or right. If this occurs to a moving platform, then this can impede progress unless the player backtracks and returns to the area with a properly aligned camera. This also occurs in Pocket Monster II.

Not fixed in any version.
