The Sega MultiMedia Studio demo disc is a Sega Mega-CD demonstration program developed and produced by Sega Multimedia Studio as a means to promote the advanced hardware features and graphical effects of the upcoming CD-based system. While not publicly released, it was demonstrated by Sega of America at their Summer CES 1992 booth.[1]

Content
The Sega MultiMedia Studio (demo) consists of a real-time demonstration of Mega-CD hardware features, particularly its ability to scale and rotate sprites, and its full-motion video playback capabilities. In addition to featuring extracts from the 1992 films Cool World and Batman Returns (as well as a clip from the 1946 Bugs Bunny cartoon The Big Snooze), artwork and digitized photographs of Star Trek's USS Enterprise, ToeJam & Earl and Joe Montana also make brief appearances.
The demo's repeated use of Sonic the Hedgehog resulted in several news outlets erroneously confusing the program with the unreleased Sonic the Hedgehog 2 CD.[2][3] It was also mistaken for the scrapped Mega-CD version of Cool World.
