ESPN NBA Hangtime '95 is a basketball game for the Sega Mega-CD. It was only released in North America.

The game makes use of the Mega-CD's sprite-scaling and rotation capabilities to simulate 3D gameplay. It has a hip-hop soundtrack and features full-motion video segments of ESPN sportscasters Dan Patrick and Stuart Scott covering the matches.

Gameplay

The game is a fast-paced two-on-two basketball game, similar to NBA Jam but using a 3D perspective and a half-court with one basket. The goal is to get more baskets than the other team, with baskets from within the three-point line counting for two points and baskets from on or outside the three-point line counting for three points. Each game is four quarters long, with each quarter lasting 2, 5, or 12 minutes (depending on player preference). The player can also choose the difficulty level of AI opponents (Easy, Medium, or Hard) and who gets the ball after each score (winners or losers).

The game supports up to four players simultaneously with the Team Player. Two players can play on the same team or one human player can play with a computer-controlled teammate (in which case the game automatically switches control to whichever team member has the ball, unless Tag Mode is disabled in the options).

In addition to the NBA Hangtime mode, there is also an ESPN World Tour mode that substitutes the NBA players and arena for 12 international teams with fictional players and courts. These teams often have unusual appearances, such as the London team dressing as bobbies and the Tahitian team wearing hula skirts. Each team has two special dunks that can be done with special button combinations.

The NBA Hangtime mode can be played as an exhibition match (one game), a full season, or the play-offs (skipping the regular season). The ESPN World Tour mode can be played as an exhibition match or a tournament.

	Defense
	When the player's team does not have possession of the ball, the player can jump to try to block the opposing team's shots with . When near an opposing player, the player can try to steal the ball with . When playing with a computer-controlled teammate, the player can switch the team member under control with .
	Offense
	When the player's team has possession of the ball, the player can jump by holding ; while in the air, the player can shoot by pressing again or pass by pressing . If neither button is pressed, the player shoots the ball to avoid incurring a traveling penalty. The player performs a dunk when a shot is attempted close to the basket. There are several different types of dunks that can be done with special button combinations. The player can pass the ball with . When playing with an AI teammate, pressing forces the AI to pass the ball. Opponents can intercept the ball as it is being passed. The player has a turbo meter that increases his running speed by holding , but this drains the meter and makes the player more tired. Players can be substituted by pausing the game with  START .
