1995-06-08 | Saturn Fan (JP), "1995 July" | "Game Gear Fan" The game is revealed to be a training simulation game, with 3 screenshots. These roughly match up to captions detailing the 8 activities yoi can schedule for the 3 characters, the different areas you get to relocate to as they grow up, and the possibility of raising them to become a normal junior high school student instead of a magic knight.
1995-07-07 | Sega Saturn Magazine (JP), "August 1995" | "Mega・Gear dog race" All 4 reviewers consider it a well-made game, though not necessarily something that will appeal to people who aren't already fans of Rayearth. Youko Aoyama especially praises it for the different events beyond the training elements always keeping it engaging and thinks it's waste to limit the game's audience to only children and fans. High Rollers' Ro thinks it is a bit too slow, especially as event animations cannot be skipped, but it is very playable. Jam Ojisan thinks the Rayearth quiz it includes adds replay value but would have liked it if there was a way to display all 3 characters' parameters at the same time. Guest writer Kushida says the various small achievements lend the game a real sense of growth, so it doesn't become a problem that the game is actually very monotonous, nor has a lot of animation on screen.

1995-07-07 | Saturn Fan (JP), "1995 August" | "Game Gear Fan" Covers how players can choose to either train all 3 magic knights or just one. The day-by-day scheduling is also explained, pointing out the lessons, the adventure and sudden events. A "nurturing diary" is included where the writer recounts their experience, focusing their training on combat and magic and hitting a limit that could only be overcome by going on an adventure.
