Saturnday was a proposed Sega of America marketing campaign centered around the Western release date of the Sega Saturn. A portmanteau of the words Saturn and Saturday, the campaign was announced around in early 1995, with the system's release scheduled for September 2 of that year.[1] This date would later be slightly pushed back, with Tom Kalinske citing a desire to launch the system with at least 10 titles.[2] However, the campaign would not come to fruition, as Sega of Japan later disregarded this date and forced the American release of the system forward by four months.
