Eliminator (エリミネーター) is an arcade game developed by Sega/Gremlin, and published by Sega for the G80 vector arcade hardware. It was released in 1981.

Gameplay

It is a shoot-'em up game similar to Atari's Asteroids, however supports up to four players at once (the only four-player vector game ever made, available in both two player and four player cabinets). The object of the game is not to destroy your opponent per se, but rather to hit the centre of a large asteroid (the "eliminator") which moves across the screen. Hitting the eliminator will cause your ship to explode and a life will be lost. Firing and hitting opponents causes the enemy ship to rebound from the shot - it does not destroy it.

Extra enemies will generate from the centre of the eliminator after a certain period. These will attempt to fly straight into your ship and destroy it.

History

Legacy

Eliminator was included as an unlockable extra in the PlayStation Portable version of Sega Mega Drive Collection.
