Gauntlet Legends is a sequel to Gauntlet, released for the Sega Dreamcast in 2000. The game is a hack-and-slash dungeon crawler which sees up to four players fighting hordes of monsters while exploring large fantasy environments, collecting treasures and artifacts along the way.

While the game was originally released in arcades and earlier home consoles, the later Dreamcast version of Gauntlet Legends is interesting in it that contains many features from Gauntlet Dark Legacy (an upgraded version of Gauntlet Legends released shortly before the Dreamcast version of Legends). As a result, the Dreamcast version is a unique blend of content from both Legends and Dark Legacy. It is also the closest to the original arcade version, maintaining multiple arcade-specific assets and gameplay mechanics.
