Monita to Rimoko no Head On Channel (モニ太とリモ子のヘッドオンチャンネル) is an unreleased arcade game made by Sega Enterprises, Ltd., powered by the Sega System C2 board. It was featured on a location test in Tokyo around 1994, which implies the game did not gain enough attention and was cancelled.

The game was supposed to be a remixed variant of Head-On, now featuring two characters, Monita and Rimoko, that must save Japan and the rest of the world by traversing multiple mazes in a car inside TV channels. It also features boss battles over the original. Even in its unreleased state, the game can be played from the start to the end.

History

Legacy

Due to its incomplete state, some musics from the game were taken from other System C2 games: The Course Clear jingle was featured in Stack Columns, while the Game Over jingle was previously featured on the minigame Time Stop from Puzzle & Action: Tant-R. Some voices might be recycled from other System C2 games, as they play in a very higher pitch than usual.

The panels in stage 8 are icons related to Sonic the Hedgehog. Given the ambience of the stage being themed into a TV studio, it would be a possible inspiration for the Studiopolis Zone from Sonic Mania if the game was actually released.

Playable compatibility support for the game was available on MAME since version 0.236.[1]
