Scenedicate
From Sega Retro
I'm thinking of trying out a new system over on NEC Retro and bringing here too, seems like it could be a useful category, especially in the home computer market where it was a common practice.
But i'm wondering how to distinguish between a "diskmag"/"diskzine", a demo disc and other multi-media releases (see Anime Freak and other discs). There's a lot of overlap between them all functionally speaking; they all contain custom cool visuals, a central screen to access all the goodies, demos/previews of games and snippets of videos, CGs from adventure games and whatnot.
My initial instinct was to say that demo discs were for consoles and diskmags were for home computers, but that would mean Scenedicate would be a demo disc when its the closest thing to a printed magazine on my to-do list. The best i can come up with as a rule of thumb is that stand alone releases are (most of the time) demo discs and pack-ins with (home computer centric) magazines are diskzines. -Saad (talk) 20:28, 9 April 2024 (EDT)
