Arnold "The King" Daniel Palmer is a former American professional golfer, and one of the sports most renowned and influential athletes. The first televised sports celebrity, Palmer was recruited by Sega of America to officially endorse the 1989 Sega Mega Drive golf game Arnold Palmer Tournament Golf.

History

Early in the lifespan of the Sega Genesis in North America, Sega of America sought to continue Tonka's use of celebrity game endorsements from the Sega Master System era by launching Sega's new 16-bit hardware with a number of recognizable celebrities; most notably popular singer Michael Jackson, American football star Joe Montana, and professional golfer Arnold Palmer.
