Sega GT 2002 is a sequel to Sega GT, released exclusively on the Xbox in 2002. It was originally due to be released as a Sega Dreamcast game, but development switched to the Xbox following the Dreamcast's demise as a home video game console.
Sega GT 2002 was pitched as Sega's answer to Gran Turismo 3, which had seen success on the PlayStation 2, however is widely considered an inferior game with many critics feeling that the game failed to take advantage of the superior specifications of the Xbox console.
A soundtrack album, Sega GT 2002 Original Soundtrack, was released in Japan two months after the game.
