Up'n Down is an arcade game developed by Sega in 1983. In it, the player drives a car down a series of diagonal roads attempting to avoid other cars while collecting coloured flags. To make things difficult, the cars' speeds are affected when travelling up hills, and the player must accelerate/decelerate at the right times to make sure he/she does not get hit. The map will loop until all the flags have been collected. In the west, the arcade game was distributed by Bally Midway.
Though not an extremely successful arcade game, Sega/U.S. Gold ported it to the Apple II, Atari 2600, Atari 8-bit family, ColecoVision, Commodore 64 and DOS computers. It was also advertised in Japan and Finland for SG-1000, but never released, thus it has never been released on a Sega console outside of Sega Memorial Selection Vol.1 on the Sega Saturn. A port was also due for the ZX Spectrum but was cancelled.
