This game, called World Trophy Soccer in the US and European Club Soccer in Europe, is a 1992 soccer game by Krisalis Software Ltd. and Virgin for the Sega Mega Drive. Shogakukan Production and Game Arts brought the game to Japan with a J. League license the following year as J. League Champion Soccer (Jリーグチャンピオンサッカー).
The game follows a typical professional league football season — you play games with the team you select to play as and merely see the results of every other game... but one game at a time. There are at least a button to kick and an optional button to change the current player (TODO which are which).
