Shogakukan Production and Game Arts brought the game to Japan with a J. League license the following year as J. League Champion Soccer (Jリーグチャンピオンサッカー).

The game follows a typical professional league football season — you play games with the team you select to play as and merely see the results of every other game... but one game at a time.
