Win instantly
Enter your name as BIGNET, then start Operation BHA. When the fighting starts, press START on the second control pad to knock out your opponent.
Invincibility
Enter your name as MUTEKI, then start Operation BHA. You will be invincible.
Easier opponents
Enter your name as EASY, then start Operation BHA.
Harder opponents
Enter your name as HARD, then start Operation BHA.
Visual debug mode
Enter your name as FOMA, then start Operation BHA. Instead of starting the game, you will be taken to a "visual debug mode" (ビジュデアルデバッグモード) menu allowing you to watch all the movies.
The menu is in Japanese in both the NTSC-U and NTSC-J versions of the game. "Foma" is credited as one of the game's programmers.
Black Ball Assault
Enter your name as AZY, then start Operation BHA. You will be taken to a new title screen, which, if you press START will lead to a two-player Pong-like game.
In this mode, 
and 
moves the "paddle", while 
fires a projectile which can affect the ball's movement (as can a moving, spinning object in the centre of the screen). After a player misses ten times, the game resets back to the Black Ball Assault title screen; the only way to return to normal play is to perform a software reset (
++
+ START ).
As with the above, "Azy" is credited in the game with programming.
