Adjustable credits
On the Options screen, pressing 
50 times unlocks a new CREDIT option, allowing players to modify the amount of lives they begin a new game with,[1] including an option to make them unlimited.[2]
Stage select and adjustable credits
With a Virtua Gun plugged into the second controller port, shooting the Options screen results in an explosion, which unlocks both the CREDIT option and a new STAGE option - allowing players to choose on which stage they begin the game.[1]
