Mega Drive version

Unlimited lives

Pause the game and press B Down C Down Up Down Left Down.

Improve handling

Pause the game and press A Up B Down C Left  START  Right (noting that the game will unpause when  START  is pressed). A jingle will play if entered correctly.

Faster vehicles

Pause the game and press Up Down A B Left Right C. This will make your vehicle much faster.

More force when colliding with other vehicles

Pause the game and press C Up Left Right A B A C. Now when colliding with other vehicles, they should be pushed more than usual.

Harder opponents

Pause the game and press Left Right Left Right Up Down  START  Down.

Master System version

Practice mode

Press Up 2 Down 2 2 Left 2 2 2 on the title screen. This will allow the player to practice any track in the game, with the game returning to the title screen after finishing a race.

Hard mode

Press Up Down Left Right Left 2 Up on the title screen. This will make opponents in Challenge Mode drive faster.

Rock hard mode

Press Up Down Left Right Left 2 Up Up 2 Up on the title screen. This will make opponents in Challenge Mode drive much faster.

Faster vehicles

In the qualifying race, get ahead of the pack, stop before the finish line, turn around and reverse over the finish line using 2. A sound will play if done correctly. This will make your vehicle much faster.

Super skidding

In "The Breakfast Bends", drive over one of the two honey puddles inside the track and press 1+2. A sound will play if done correctly. This will make vehicles skid more.

No skidding

In "The Breakfast Bends", make the car skid (which is best done using the milk puddles on the track) and press Up+1+2. A sound will play if done correctly, though it may be interrupted by the skidding sounds. This will make vehicles unable to skid.

Exploding opponents

In "The Breakfast Bends", park at the top-left corner of the table and press 1+2. A sound will play if done correctly. This will make opponents explode upon collision.

Slower opponents

In "The Breakfast Bends", drive off the top-right corner of the table in reverse. A sound will play if done correctly. This will make opponents drive more slowly.

Infinite lives

In "The Breakfast Bends", drive off the bottom-right corner of the table. A sound will play if done correctly.

Always finish in 1st place

At the start of "The Breakfast Bends", turn around and complete one lap of the track in the opposite direction. A sound will play if done correctly. From now on, you will win every race regardless of your position.

Two extra lives and super collisions

At the start of "Desktop Drop-off", face directly left without accelerating, then drive straight until the car hits a blue pencil. A sound will play if done correctly. This will award two extra lives, and when colliding with other vehicles, they should be pushed more than usual.

Game Gear version

Squinky Tennis

When the Codemasters logo is on-screen, hold  START  until it disappears. This will open "Squinky Tennis", a two-player minigame hidden in several of Codemasters' Game Gear titles. It requires two Game Gears linked with the Gear-to-Gear Cable to be played.
