Mega Drive version
The Mega Drive version of Prince of Persia was released in North America by Tengen some months before its European release. During this time, the PAL version would receive a number of enhancements - here, among the differing copyright text, there are slight tweaks to the logo to make it stand out against the background.
The PAL version has no text in its intro, but includes extra scenes and animations not found in the NTSC-U version.
The PAL version is one of the few ports of the game to have in-game music, so has extra sound options to accommodate.
The PAL version sees the player kicked down some stairs before entering the first level. This is followed by the player falling from the top left corner of the screen and the gate closing behind. The NTSC-U version has no such sequence - the player starts (slightly further along). There are also no level indicators in the NTSC-U version of the game.
