Clean pause
While paused, press ++ to remove the pause menu. The menu can be reinstated by pressing any button afterwards.
Unlock Lake Side
On the main menu, press +. In arcade practice mode, pressing when highlighting Mountain will reveal Lake Side, while it will be listed normally elsewhere.
Unlock the Stratos
On the main menu, press . Now, when selecting a car in arcade mode, press when highlighting the manual Celica to see the automatic Stratos, or press when highlighting the manual Delta to see the manual Stratos. In other modes, it will just be listed normally.
Race against the Stratos in arcade practice mode
Having unlocked the Stratos, go to arcade, then practice, and when prompted to select a course, press HOLD . Keep the buttons held until the race starts, and the opponent car should be a Statos.
Mirror mode
On the select game screen, hold +. When the game begins, the tracks will be flipped.
"Special" mode
In arcade mode, select your car with HOLD . This will alter the car's handling to make it harder to spin out when cornering. Any arcade mode records set using this mode will be logged under a separate "Special" category.
Change replay camera angles
During a replay, toggles between the default "cinematic" camera and the "normal" camera, the latter emulating the view seen during normal play.
With the "cinematic" camera enabled, press HOLD + to zoom out and HOLD + to zoom in. With the normal camera enabled, pressing , , , , , or will switch between viewpoints. and emulate the first/third person view seen in the main game just by pressing .
Remove HUD
Prior to the car selection screen, hold ++, then select your car with . When the race starts, all HUD elements will be removed.
More challenging ghost car
On the time attack menu, select "3 laps" with HOLD +. When the race begins, a more challenging ghost car will appear.
Falling scenery
Drive backwards on the Forest course until you get to the area between the checkpoint and the hairpin turn. A muddy hill will shake for a couple of seconds, then fall off-screen (taking a spectator with it). It is not known why this feature exists; it appears to have been explicitly programmed, rather than a bug.
