Aprinet

From Sega Retro

So I found a logo for Aprinet. Its a brief second or two of a - *breathes* - a home videotape of an unreleased (or early) prototype of one of Varie's Mega Drive racing games (maybe but likely not developed by Aprinet, but appearing very similar to another Aprinet racing game in the same series) playing on a television set on what looks like the show floor of an old Japanese games convention, filmed by a press attendee on offscreen home video.

So this game not developed by Aprinet, but with apparent Aprinet connections, features a brief moment in its (likely) introduction sequence where a picture of these F1 cars appears, and in the background, on the wall as a racing banner, there it is. What I've been looking for, the logo of this developer: INETAPR. Perfect. and let's not forget that this is offscreen footage, at a heavy angle, with glare and discoloration and motion blur. BUT THERE IT IS.

So yes, Aprinet had a logo. And it looked (something) like this. Maybe. From what I can tell here, it was a red/maroon font (likely the former, accounting for the discoloration), fully capitalized, and with some kind of stylized... like, bulbous fancy font? Whatever you'd call that style of drawing characters. As for the left-flowing streaks, I THINK that might be specific to this one game: I'm getting that they were going for a "the cars are speeding by so fast that this fresh paint is getting pulled leftward" vibe. And MAYBE that bulbous fancy font is specific to this game too (it almost looks paint-like as well?) but tbh I could see that being the normal font.

Anyway. Long story short, I will be coming back to this page to post the original image so someone can make a less-amateurish attempt at reassembling the logo than I did. Or just keep in mind that personally, I absolutely suck at checking video sources, and this is all gonna look real foolish once I open up some old MD promo tape on YouTube and their honkin logo is the first thing that pops up. BUT WE HAVE AN APRINET LOGO.

Update: The logo looks less like garbage now. Only slightly less. But at least this is more accurate to what's actually there. Honestly, if there was a developer who needed a logo recreation, this would be it. CartridgeCulture (talk) 07:16, 16 September 2021 (EDT)
