History
Test Drive 6 was the second Test Drive game to be released on a Sega platform as the series has typically been aligned with the PlayStation and Windows-based PCs. The only other two Test Drive games to see a release on a Sega console were The Duel: Test Drive II on the Sega Mega Drive and Le Mans 24 Hours, a spin-off game released for the Dreamcast in 2000.
V-Rally 2 Expert Edition was also sold under the name Test Drive V-Rally in North America, as had similarly happened with the PlayStation games in the V-Rally series, which were released in the US by Electronic Arts as spinoffs of the Need for Speed series. Whereas both Le Mans 24 Hours and V-Rally 2 saw an international release, Test Drive 6 on the Dreamcast was exclusive to North America. The likely reason for this was due to Cryo Interactive, the publisher of the game in Europe, not supporting the Dreamcast (as the publisher never released any games for the system).
