The Sega System 2 (セガ システム 2) is an arcade platform introduced by Sega in 1985. It is a successor to the Sega System 1, though largely an upgrade, utilising the same Zilog Z80 CPU, sound chips, and Sega graphics chipset. The major upgrades of the System 2 are the addition of a ROM board, faster RAM, and a larger 512×512 background scrolling plane.
The System 2 was supported alongside the System 1, with its last game being released in 1988.
