We don't know much about the Sega Channel release (or have any recordings of it), so we don't know if the ROM we have is the same as the Sega Channel one, or actually an early prototype. My bet's on the former. If we eventually DO discover the ROM is identical to the Sega Channel broadcast, can someone go change '''prototype=yes''' to '''prototype=no''' in the ROM dump status on this page? Mega Drive "prototype"

So as the current article says, the dumped MD version of Waterworld was known as a proto for a long time, because it was thought to be unreleased. Now that we know it was released on Sega Channel, this begs a question: is the dumped "proto" ROM we have actually a prototype?

We don't know much about the Sega Channel release (or have any recordings of it), so we don't know if the ROM we have is the same as the Sega Channel one, or actually an early prototype. My bet's on the former. If we eventually DO discover the ROM is identical to the Sega Channel broadcast, can someone go change prototype=yes to prototype=no in the ROM dump status on this page? Version split

The Saturn version is totally different to the Mega Drive one (plonk) so probably needs a different page. The problem (and the reason I didn't jump on this sooner) is that I've not seen any screenshots of the 32X version, so I didn't know which version to pair it with. Unless you want to keep all three on the same page anyway -Black Squirrel (talk) 09:52, 4 November 2014 (CST)

The catamaran section is different, but we don't know if the rest of the game would have been. I don't think it's worth making a separate page until we have more info. - Hivebrain (talk) 11:33, 4 November 2014 (CST)
