Space Flies Attack is a homebrew shooter game for the Sega Mega Drive based on classic Space Invaders and Galaga game. This game was developed and published by Timur Lyazgiev (T-Arts Studio) in June 2021. A limited run of 100 physical copies was made.
The game featured over 20 levels, 10+ enemy types, 10 melodies, 3 difficulty modes, and shadow and highlight mode.[2]
Gameplay
The player controls a starship at the bottom of the screen, which must prevent the space invaders forces from destroying all of mankind.
The objective of each stage is to defeat all of the aliens, which will fly into formation from the top of the screen. Aliens will dive towards the player while shooting down projectiles. Aliens become more aggressive as the game progresses, increasing their number of projectiles and diving down at a faster rate. Colliding with either projectiles or aliens will result in a life being lost.
The player can only fire a single shot on-screen, and must wait for it to hit the top before being able to fire another.
A special ship will occasionally move across the top of the screen and award bonus points if destroyed.
