Hi Akane. I'm actually a bit confused about Dorimaga and Dreamcast Magazine. The reader ratings are published in a Dorimaga issue, yet are listed as Dreamcast Magazine ratings. Is there any particular reason why? Are those reader ratings in that Dorimaga issue originally from Dreamcast Magazine readers, or something like that? I can't read Japanese, so I'm not too sure. Take a look at the discussion page of Yu Suzuki's article if you feel like cleaning up, and read also this discussion as a reference for game pages. Note that final decisions weren't made though, so it isn't a good idea to do more than trimming repetitive/incoherent contents etc (adding/removing sections or moving things around may be in vain). I've also noticed many dead links in pages you've edited a while ago so be more careful about that. Lastly (this one is my personal opinion), try to avoid hot-links to external images/PDFs, if possible link to the page of the website which hosts said file instead. --AllisonKidd (talk) 19:16, 19 November 2015 (CST)

It's great that you're bulking up these arcade hardware pages, but this isn't Wikipedia - a lot of the red links you've added will never get pages here.

This category is very old. Most of these pages originated from Sonic Retro where there's a Sonic the Hedgehog hacking scene being accommodated... and I'm not entirely sure why they were brought over, or honestly why some of these pages existed in the first place. My gut feeling is to abandon attempts to document the concepts of anti-aliasing or RAM or pixels and point towards Wikipedia's definitions, because those ones will be better and are more likely to be actively maintained.

It makes more sense for a more general wiki like Wikipedia to be the first port of call on these matters than a Sega-specific one like Sega Retro... because the idea of RAM isn't specific to Sega. Actually I might start scrapping these pages today. I forgot they were even here.

So yes just be careful when copying things from Wikipedia en masse. References too - a lot of Wikipedia's are naff. -Black Squirrel (talk) 04:16, 21 February 2015 (CST)

Thanks for the tip. I think I'll go back and try to fix up a lot of those red links. Over9000 (talk) 10:54, 21 February 2015 (CST)

Sega Retro is not Wikipedia--as such, copy/pasting content from Wikipedia doesn't really help us. That being said, if we host an asset, uh, link to our copy instead of SMS Power's. - Scarred Sun (talk) 12:11, 20 June 2015 (CDT)

Most of the stuff I've added are my own original work. However, I admit I have added bits from Wikipedia at times, which I'll try to avoid from now on. And yeah, I just noticed some of those resources are already available here, so I've already redirected several of those SMS Power links here. Over9000 (talk) 17:06, 20 June 2015 (CDT)

Production History

The problem isn't so much that you're adding stuff to Yu Suzuki's page - that probabably needed doing, it's just that changing the formatting makes it different to everyone else. I don't think the way it's been built up over the years is perfect, but I'd rather have "a bit messy" than "inconsistent".

Truth be told it would be nice to have it more automated, although I'm not sure how that can be done efficiently. -Black Squirrel (talk) 10:07, 30 June 2015 (CDT)

I didn't notice those other developer pages before. I can see what you mean about consistency though. I don't mind going back to the old formatting, but I've made some other additions along the way, so it might take a little while. Over9000 (talk) 11:10, 30 June 2015 (CDT)
Okay, I've now changed it back to the old formatting. Over9000 (talk) 13:16, 30 June 2015 (CDT)

Watch out

Before you keep on "expanding" articles, you better read this --AllisonKidd (talk) 20:06, 3 July 2015 (CDT)

I didn't notice that until now. Thanks for linking. Anyway, I've just finished up on my last expansion just now, and wasn't planning to do any more expansions after that. If some of the material I've added is problematic, then I wouldn't mind trimming some stuff down. Over9000 (talk) 20:21, 3 July 2015 (CDT)

Website ratings

I'm not sure we should be adding review scores from smaller websites. I'm not familiar with Shin Force, but it looks like a one-man operation. We need to be careful what we add or we'll end up with more scores from small websites than actual print magazines. - Hivebrain (talk) 17:21, 13 July 2015 (CDT)

I found the site through GameRankings, so wasn't too sure about it. But I guess I'll probably just stick to the major sites from now on (or at least sites with their own Wikipedia pages). Over9000 (talk) 02:12, 16 July 2015 (CDT)

Famitsu and Dengeki ratings

Those rating system are done by four editors. These should be averaged, i think. --Akiyama Akane (talk) 01:06, 19 July 2015 (CDT)

Hi. In both cases, it's the same magazine, yet four separate reviews, so I'm not sure if it would be better to average them or list them as four separate reviews? Over9000 (talk) 01:09, 19 July 2015 (CDT)

If they're all in the same issue, then they should be averaged. - Hivebrain (talk) 01:26, 19 July 2015 (CDT)
