WiZ Co., Ltd, was a Japanese toy production company and video game developer. Founded in 1986 by former Bandai employee Akihiro Yokoi[1], it is perhaps best known for producing the original Tamagotchi and Digimon virtual pets.
In September 2006, the company became a fully-owned subsidiary of Bandai, and in April 2019, it was formally merged into that company's toy design firm, Plex.[1][3]
