On the Game Over screen, don't press anything. When the Sega Mark III logo appears, press 
if playing as player 1, or if playing as player 2, then start the game. This only works in the Japanese version of the game.
Hidden message
On the title screen, press to get the message "うどんこ こんどう". This only works in the Japanese version of the game.
