Stage select

On the title screen, press Left Right A B C Left Right A B C Left Right A B C on Controller 2. A digitised "Yeah!" will confirm correct entry, and the stage select screen will appear after selecting a character and starting the game. Works in the Japanese version only.

70 lives

On the title screen, press C B A Right Left C B A Right Left C B A Right Left on Controller 2. A digitised female screech will confirm correct entry. The lives setting in the options screen will now display 70 lives, but attempting to change the lives setting will lock the maximum lives back to 3, requiring the player to enter the code again. Works in the Japanese version only.

Debug mode

On the title screen, press Left Right Left Right A B C B A Up Down on Controller 2. A digitised voice clip will confirm correct entry. While the game is paused, press Up to advance the game by one frame. Works in the Japanese version only.

Control the stars on the Game Over screen

On the Game Over screen there is a little group of yellow stars. With a second Control Pad, it is possible to move them:

  • Left, Up and Right rotates around the three axes.
  • A zooms in while B zooms out.
  • C sets it back to the default pattern.
  • Down stops the movement entirely.
