+ | '''''{{PAGENAME}}''''' (サイバーボッツ) is a versus fighting game by [[Capcom]]. It was ported to the [[Sega Saturn]] and released exclusively in Japan in 1997.
+ | |||
+ | ==Story== | ||
+ | Near the end of the 21st century, Earth begins to become overpopulated, leading to many people living in man-made space colonies. The primary army of the planet, Earth Force, has been conducting experiments that will determine the future of Earth.
+ | |||
+ | ==Gameplay== | ||
+ | The game is a versus fighting game in which the player controls large mecha called "VAs" (for Valiant or Variant Armor). Gameplay is similar to other Capcom fighting games, with various special attacks available to each mecha. Players choose a pilot and a mecha; the mecha determine the gameplay of the game, while the pilot determines the storyline. Battles are duels fought to the best of three rounds, where the two mecha try to deplete each other's vitality within a time limit.
+ | |||
+ | In the single-player Arcade Mode, the chosen character faces nine opponents in a predetermined order. There are fully voiced story cutscenes between each battle. There is also a dedicated two-player Versus Mode where players can choose a handicap, the number of rounds (1, 3, or 5), and the stage.
+ | |||
+ | The mecha move with {{left}} or {{right}}. They can boost on the ground with {{left}} {{left}} or {{right}} {{right}} to close distance on their opponents or by holding {{C}} or {{R}} with a direction. The mecha can attack while boosting. They can boost in the air as well by holding {{C}} or {{R}} with a direction after jumping. Light attacks are performed with {{A}} and heavy attacks are performed with {{B}}. Each mecha has a variety of attacks depending on whether it is standing, crouching, jumping, or dashing. Each mecha also has a special weapon that is launched with {{L}}. While weapons have unlimited ammunition, using a weapon expends the Weapon gauge. The gauge recovers quickly.
+ | |||
+ | Attacks can be blocked, including in midair, by holding the D-Pad away from the opponent. The mecha can perform a grab or a throw by holding {{left}} or {{right}} when near an opponent and pressing either attack button. After being thrown, a mecha can fall safely and reduce the damage taken by pressing {{C}} rapidly. In addition to losing vitality, each mecha has an Arm gauge that depletes as it takes repeated damage (similar to a stun mechanic common in other fighting games). The gauge replenishes quickly when the mecha is not under attack, but if the gauge is drained, the mecha's arm falls off, decreasing its offensive potential. Arms can be reattached by walking over them.
+ | |||
+ | Each mecha has a Power gauge that is charged with energy every time it hits an opponent. It can also be charged rapidly by holding both attack buttons simultaneously. Once the gauge is fully charged, the player can execute a Cyber EX move, which is a special technique that hits multiple times if it connects and does high damage.
+ | |||
+ | ===Pilots=== | ||
+ | In the Arcade Mode, Jin, Mary, Santana, Gawaine, Bao and Mao, and Arieta can choose any mecha from the four standard classes (Blodia, Reptos, Fordy, and Guldin). The three console-exclusive characters, Chiyomaru and Tessan Hagure, S.H.A.D.E., and Devilotte, only fight with their personal mecha (the Gaits, Helion, and Super-8 respectively). Opponents are typically (but not always) encountered in their personal mecha.
+ | |||
+ | In the Versus Mode, any character can pilot any mecha. However, the Gaits, Helion, and Super-8 must be unlocked by completing the Arcade Mode with their respective pilots on at least the default difficulty level. The Warlock is additionally unlocked when the Gaits, Helion, and Super-8 have all been unlocked. The Zero-Gouki is unlocked by completing the Arcade Mode as any character on at least the default difficulty level without using a continue.

Cyberbots: FullMetal Madness (サイバーボッツ) is a versus fighting game by Capcom. It was ported to the Sega Saturn and released exclusively in Japan in 1997.

Story
Near the end of the 21st century, Earth begins to become overpopulated, leading to many people living in man-made space colonies. The primary army of the planet, Earth Force, has been conducting experiments that will determine the future of Earth.
Gameplay
The game is a versus fighting game in which the player controls large mecha called "VAs" (for Valiant or Variant Armor).
In the single-player Arcade Mode, the chosen character faces nine opponents in a predetermined order. There are fully voiced story cutscenes between each battle. There is also a dedicated two-player Versus Mode where players can choose a handicap, the number of rounds (1, 3, or 5), and the stage.
The mecha move with or . They can boost on the ground with or to close distance on their opponents or by holding or with a direction. The mecha can attack while boosting. They can boost in the air as well by holding or with a direction after jumping. Light attacks are performed with and heavy attacks are performed with . Each mecha has a variety of attacks depending on whether it is standing, crouching, jumping, or dashing. Each mecha also has a special weapon that is launched with . While weapons have unlimited ammunition, using a weapon expends the Weapon gauge. The gauge recovers quickly.
Attacks can be blocked, including in midair, by holding the D-Pad away from the opponent. The mecha can perform a grab or a throw by holding or when near an opponent and pressing either attack button. After being thrown, a mecha can fall safely and reduce the damage taken by pressing rapidly.
Each mecha has a Power gauge that is charged with energy every time it hits an opponent. It can also be charged rapidly by holding both attack buttons simultaneously. Once the gauge is fully charged, the player can execute a Cyber EX move, which is a special technique that hits multiple times if it connects and does high damage.
Pilots
In the Arcade Mode, Jin, Mary, Santana, Gawaine, Bao and Mao, and Arieta can choose any mecha from the four standard classes (Blodia, Reptos, Fordy, and Guldin). The three console-exclusive characters, Chiyomaru and Tessan Hagure, S.H.A.D.E., and Devilotte, only fight with their personal mecha (the Gaits, Helion, and Super-8 respectively). Opponents are typically (but not always) encountered in their personal mecha.
In the Versus Mode, any character can pilot any mecha.

Gawaine Murdock | |
Mecha: GP-N1 Guldin Final battle: Jin Saotome
Gawaine was a Captain of Earth Force but retired at age 63 after the deaths of his men in a training accident. He lives in seclusion from everyone while trying to live out his final days in peace and quiet. He returns after Earth Force begins making trouble. Gawaine was Mary's captain when she was still lieutenant, a close friend of the Saotome family, and a good friend to S.H.A.D.E. in the past before S.H.A.D.E. was turned into a cyborg.

Mecha: UVA-02 Helion Final battle: Jin Saotome
S.H.A.D.E. was chosen by Earth Force for their "super soldier" experiments. S.H.A.D.E. is now a cyborg and an attack dog for Earth Force. His memories are a little scrambled and he is trying to remember who he was.
Princess Devilotte de Deathsatan IX
Mecha: S-008 Super-8 Final battle: Gawaine Murdock
