''Kids on Site'' is a heavy vehicle simulator for younger children rather than a traditional video game. The player controls one of four vehicles on a construction site and can complete a task with each to earn a "merit badge." Every action taken with the equipment is shown through a video clip. Once all of the merit badges have been collected, a finale opens. There is no way to lose any of the scenarios, so the player can also create mischief with the equipment (such as lifting a construction worker with the excavator or rolling over piles of fruit in the bulldozer) to view the video sequences.

Gameplay

Kids on Site CD, Main Menu.png

Main menu

Kids on Site is a heavy vehicle simulator for younger children rather than a traditional video game.

In any scene, the player can return to the main menu to select a different vehicle with  START  or pause the game with A+C.

Characters

These characters work on the construction site and guide the player through each scenario.

Kids on Site CD, Characters, Nuts.png

Scenarios

The first four scenarios can be selected in any order. The finale becomes available after completing all of the other scenarios. Scenarios can be replayed after they have been completed.

Eddie the Excavator
An excavator is a heavy vehicle designed for digging and dumping large loads of dirt or other material. It has a "dipper" (also called a shovel or a bucket) attached to the end of a long crane.

The goal of the scenario is to fill the dump truck with three shovels full of dirt. The excavator is stationary here, but the player can rotate its arm around the construction site and control the bucket. The player can rotate the crane left with A or right with C and dig or dump with B.

Billy the Bulldozer
A bulldozer is a heavy vehicle with treads like a tank and a steel blade mounted to the front of it for pushing material.

The goal of the scenario is to clear the junk pile. The player can move the bulldozer left with A or right with C and drive forward with B.

Kids on Site CD, Stages, Steamroller.png

Melvin the Steamroller
A steamroller is a heavy vehicle with a large roller that is used for leveling surfaces, such as a road. The name comes from the steam engine, which was the traditional method of propulsion, though modern steamrollers use conventional internal combustion engines.

The goal of the scenario is to flatten the asphalt by rolling over it three times. The player can move the steamroller left with A or right with C and drive forward with B.

Ruby the Wrecking Ball
A wrecking ball is a heavy steel ball usually hung from a crane for large demolition jobs, such as destroying buildings.

The goal of the scenario is to demolish the building. The crane is stationary here, but the player can rotate its arm around the construction site and swing the wrecking ball. The player can rotate the crane left with A or right with C and swing the wrecking ball with B.
