Hirokazu Kanouda (叶多 弘和) joined Sega in 1999, working at Tokyo Joypolis for 3 years before being transferred to the Merchandising Department (previously called Prize Department) in June 2002. He was mainly responsible for licensed franchises, including Fist of the North Star, Initial D, Osamu Tezuka's characters and SpongeBob SquarePants.[1]
