C'est plus fort que toi was the slogan of the Maître Sega (Sega Master) advertising campaign in France and Belgium.^[1]

History

The campaign started in 1991, with promotion of Mega Drive. The main narrator of every commercial was "Sega Master" (voice by Patrick Borg known in France from voicing Son Goku). The first and most popular adverts were associated with the Sega Punk (played by Ian Harrison) which was dystopian character coming to destroyed factory to play Sega games which he couldn't beat. That's were "Sega Master" says slogan "Sega. It's stronger than you". The commercials were filmed in London in 1990, so audience could see beta stages from Sonic 1. Next advert had other characters like Terminator, Indiana Jones or Ayrton Senna (played by himself) which tried to beat "Sega Master". The advert series was pretty popular and soon became main slogan of every advert in Europe until 1993/1994 and France until 1996. The series was translated and show in other countries as full campaigns with same slogan for example in Belgium (in French and Flemish dialect), Portugal (É mais forte que tu!), Greece (Απο σενα πιο δυνατο), Spain (Vive Una Aventura Sega) and Italy (Solo Per Veri Campioni). In addition, some clips have been used in other advertising campaigns in Finland, The Netherlands, Greece and others.

Sega thought about using "C'est plus fort que toi" slogan again with Dreamcast, but the idea was dropped^[2].
