Plaion (known as Koch Media until August 2022) is the official distributor of Sega products in Austria, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Norway, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.[1][2].

In 2002, the company started publishing video games as Deep Silver.

The company first took on Sega distribution roles on 1st July 2012[3] after Sega Europe closed its regional offices; Sega France, Sega Germany, Sega Spain and Sega Benelux. Nordic countries Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden were added in 2014[4], and the Benelux countries (and Italy) in 2015. In 2024, Plaion's parent company Embracer Group announced that it would split into three companies. As a result, Plaion would be retained by Embracer Group which would be renamed to a company tentatively known as "Middle-earth Enterprises & Friends".[5]
