+ | PAGENAME (闘龍伝説エランドール) is a 1998 fighting game for the Sega Titan Video arcade hardware by Sai-Mate ported to the Sega Saturn later.

+ | ==Story== | ||
+ | As lightning rumbled, Kaiser Dragon (カイザー・ドラゴン) appeared from the black sky and began raining destruction upon the world and causing great disorder. By order of the King, Captain Garnic (士団長・ガーニック) led his knights on a quest to slay Kaiser Dragon. However, Garnic has not been heard from since departing, and Kaiser Dragon's campaign of carnage has continued unabated.

+ | The game is a 3D fighting game set in a fantasy world in which fighters battle each other while riding dragons. Fights take place in midair, and combatants have limited movement in three dimensions. Each fighter has a green life bar, which drains as the fighter takes damage from the opponent's attacks, and the fighter is knocked out and loses the round if the life bar is completely emptied. Rounds are timed, and the winner is the fighter with the most life remaining if time runs out. Battles are fought to the best of three rounds. If both fighters draw after the last round, a sudden death round is played where the first player to land a hit wins. Each fighter also has a red Dragon Power bar under the life bar, which is spent when the dragon performs special moves.
+ | |||
+ | The dragon moves with left or right. They can dash in either direction with left left or right right or "free dash" forward by pressing L or R. They can free dash through opponents by holding the D-Pad forward while pressing L or R (which dashes farther when the buttons are held for longer and consumes Dragon Power for as long as the dash lasts). Fighters are constrained to the same midair plane but can move into the background with up or the foreground with down to dodge attacks. They do not automatically turn around when the opponent moves to the other side but must press the D-Pad toward the opponent to reorient. Riders can jump off their steed by pressing C (or Z); they always land back on their dragon. Jumping while dashing can jump over nearby opponents. Only the rider takes damage when hit, so jumping can be used to dodge attacks. There are two attacks, a light attack that can be performed with A (or X) and a heavy attack that can be performed with B (or Y). Characters can attack while mounted or while jumping. The riders carry weapons that increase the reach of their attacks (to compensate for the size of their mounts).
+ | |||
+ | Special moves performed by the dragon costs Dragon Power, with each special move consuming a different amount of Dragon Power. The Dragon Power bar replenishes quickly when the fighter is not attacking, and it can also be recharged faster by holding A or B (or X or Y). Each fighter has at least one special move that can be performed by the rider rather than the dragon, which does not cost any Dragon Power.
+ | |||
+ | Some moves knock the rider off their dragon (including all jumping attacks). Downed riders are quickly recovered by their dragons, but they can be hit with a projectile attack while on the ground by pressing QCF A (or QCB A if facing left). After being dismounted, the dragon can catch the rider before they hit the ground by holding the D-Pad forward and pressing A+B, though this costs 30% Dragon Power. Riders are always knocked to the ground if hit while jumping.
+ | |||
+ | Characters block by holding the D-Pad away from the opponent. Blocking costs 10% Dragon Power per move blocked, so blocking cannot be done if Dragon Power is 10% or less. Jumping attacks cannot be blocked.
+ | |||
+ | Each player starts the match with 2 SPA points. Every character has SP moves, super special moves that do more damage, which cost one SPA point to perform. Players gain another 2 SPA points at start of each new round, up to maximum of 3.
+ | |||
+ | ===Modes=== | ||
+ | The Saturn version has the following modes:
+ | |||
+ | *Arcade: A one-player mode where the player chooses a character and fights matches against eight opponents, followed by the two bosses, Black Knight and Kaiser Dragon. The game ends if the player loses a match but can be continued an unlimited number of times. A second player can challenge the first player to a match by pressing Start at any point.
+ | *Vs: A two-player mode where each player chooses a character and fights a match against one another. Players can set a handicap and the number of starting SPA points and can choose any stage. The game keeps track of how many wins each player has had.
+ | *Survival: A one-player mode where the player chooses a character and fights single-round matches against randomly selected opponents (with boss fights as the 10th and 15th opponents). The character only recovers partial life after each match, with more life recovered depending on how quickly the last opponent was defeated. The game ends if the player loses a match, with the best scores saved to the Saturn's internal memory.
+ | |||
+ | Players can set the difficulty level (Very Easy, Easy, Normal, Hard, and Very Hard), time limit (20, 30, 45, 60, or 99 seconds or no time limit), and the number of rounds needed to win a match (between 1 and 4). There is also an option for toggling the versus screen (which shows the two combatants before the match begins).
+ | |||
+ | ===Characters=== | ||
+ | MoveListNote | ||
+ | A, B, and C are interchangeable with X, Y, and Z (respectively) when performing special moves.

Story
As lightning rumbled, Kaiser Dragon (カイザー・ドラゴン) appeared from the black sky and began raining destruction upon the world and causing great disorder. By order of the King, Captain Garnic (士団長・ガーニック) led his knights on a quest to slay Kaiser Dragon. However, Garnic has not been heard from since departing, and Kaiser Dragon's campaign of carnage has continued unabated.
Gameplay
The game is a 3D fighting game set in a fantasy world in which fighters battle each other while riding dragons.
The dragon moves with or . They can dash in either direction with or or "free dash" forward by pressing or . They can free dash through opponents by holding the D-Pad forward while pressing or (which dashes farther when the buttons are held for longer and consumes Dragon Power for as long as the dash lasts). Fighters are constrained to the same midair plane but can move into the background with or the foreground with to dodge attacks. They do not automatically turn around when the opponent moves to the other side but must press the D-Pad toward the opponent to reorient. Riders can jump off their steed by pressing (or ); they always land back on their dragon. Jumping while dashing can jump over nearby opponents. Only the rider takes damage when hit, so jumping can be used to dodge attacks. There are two attacks, a light attack that can be performed with (or ) and a heavy attack that can be performed with (or ). Characters can attack while mounted or while jumping. The riders carry weapons that increase the reach of their attacks (to compensate for the size of their mounts).
Special moves performed by the dragon costs Dragon Power, with each special move consuming a different amount of Dragon Power. The Dragon Power bar replenishes quickly when the fighter is not attacking, and it can also be recharged faster by holding or (or or ). Each fighter has at least one special move that can be performed by the rider rather than the dragon, which does not cost any Dragon Power.
Some moves knock the rider off their dragon (including all jumping attacks). Downed riders are quickly recovered by their dragons, but they can be hit with a projectile attack while on the ground by pressing (or if facing left). After being dismounted, the dragon can catch the rider before they hit the ground by holding the D-Pad forward and pressing +, though this costs 30% Dragon Power. Riders are always knocked to the ground if hit while jumping.
Characters block by holding the D-Pad away from the opponent. Blocking costs 10% Dragon Power per move blocked, so blocking cannot be done if Dragon Power is 10% or less. Jumping attacks cannot be blocked.
Each player starts the match with 2 SPA points. Every character has SP moves, super special moves that do more damage, which cost one SPA point to perform. Players gain another 2 SPA points at start of each new round, up to maximum of 3.
Modes
The Saturn version has the following modes:
- Arcade: A one-player mode where the player chooses a character and fights matches against eight opponents, followed by the two bosses, Black Knight and Kaiser Dragon. The game ends if the player loses a match but can be continued an unlimited number of times. A second player can challenge the first player to a match by pressing START at any point.
- Vs: A two-player mode where each player chooses a character and fights a match against one another. Players can set a handicap and the number of starting SPA points and can choose any stage. The game keeps track of how many wins each player has had.
- Survival: A one-player mode where the player chooses a character and fights single-round matches against randomly selected opponents (with boss fights as the 10th and 15th opponents). The character only recovers partial life after each match, with more life recovered depending on how quickly the last opponent was defeated. The game ends if the player loses a match, with the best scores saved to the Saturn's internal memory.
Players can set the difficulty level (Very Easy, Easy, Normal, Hard, and Very Hard), time limit (20, 30, 45, 60, or 99 seconds or no time limit), and the number of rounds needed to win a match (between 1 and 4). There is also an option for toggling the versus screen (which shows the two combatants before the match begins).
Characters
Note: Move lists assume that the character is facing right. When facing left, and should be reversed.
