This short article is in need of work. You can help Sega Retro by adding to it.
Yasufumi Fukuda (福田 康文), born June 5 (year unknown) in Kyoto, Japan, is a sound composer originally employed by Micro Cabin who usually worked with Tadahiro Nitta. Works with the company include turn-based RPG Genei Toshi: Illusion City, role-playing RPG Guardian War and the Riglord Saga series. Though the company is known mainly for its Japanese-exclusive releases (and its equally obscure 3DO releases), its Saturn titles helped the company (and by extension, Fukuda) became better known to the Western audience.
Following Micro Cabin's abandonment of the video game industry in the year 2000, Fukuda would continue as a freelancer for Chime (Napple Tale: Arsia in Daydream) and Chunsoft (Kamaitachi no Yoru 2) and work in the units Salamander Factory (1999-2005) and Twofive (2005-), becoming a colleague of Noriyuki Iwadare through the latter. He has also done the background music for the short anime series Murder Princess.
More recent work has had Fukuda involved with Nintendo (Super Smash Bros. Brawl), Namco (SoulCalibur IV), Capcom (Ace Attorney Investigations (aka Gyakuten Kenji)) and brought back to Sega through the Sonic the Hedgehog series. This began with cutscene music for Sonic Generations and has since continued onto the Wii version of Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Fukuda has also, on occasion, played both acoustic and electric guitars in his music as well as that of others. This includes "MoonlightShadow" from Yo-Jin-Bo ~Unmei no Freude~ and "ebullient future:" the main theme of the anime ef - a tale of melodies..
