The Sega Europa-R is an arcade board developed by Sega. Unlike other PC-based arcade hardware used by the company, it was designed by Sega Amusements Europe, originally for Sega Rally 3. Its second game would come in 2010 with the Sega/Codemasters game GRID, which was only discovered to run on a version of the hardware in early 2011. According to its manual, Sega's second collaboration with Codemasters, Showdown, also uses the board.[1]
Both before and after these releases, nearly all other Sega Amusements-made titles appear to have used various unnamed generic PC hardware.
