Steven "Steve" Ross is an American artist and co-founder of video game developers Extended Play and HeadGames, notable for designing and producing art for a number of early Western Sega Mega Drive titles alongside his wife Mira Ross.[2]

History

Steven Ross was hired as an artist, designer, and art director at Interactive Designs in 1991, which became Sega InterActive one year later. He left the company in 1993 to become a contract artist, working alongside his wife Mira Ross out of their San Francisco, California home for clients such as Sega of America and Electronic Arts. He recalls them "doing everything from character design, maps, level layout, to final game art work. The most notable accomplishment for us was generating 90% of all of the art work for X-Men in three months." The two also worked on Chakan around this time.[1]
