Gold Flags is the name of a Portuguese sticker book, published and distributed free of charge, by now defunct, Famões (Lisbon) based, Portuguese printing and publishing company Europer, where the objective is to collect stickers of country flags in order to win Sega consoles. It was sponsored by Sega, so has Sonic on the front cover and console deals on the back.
Prizes were attributed depending on how much the album was completed, with the best prizes, requiring the complete album and minor ones requiring some degree of completion (i.e , with some stickers missing). The book needed to be mailed to Europer in exchange for the prize.
While the stickers are (mostly) of soverign state flags, many are innaccurate, with (often unofficial) emblems placed on top (in addition to text). Some flags are also out of date - South Vietnam, a country which ceased to exist in 1976 is represented (with the flag of the PRG).
