Pepenga Pengo (ぺぺんがPENGO), sometimes just known as Pengo, is a sequel to the 1982 arcade game, Pengo. It was released for the Sega Mega Drive exclusively in Japan in 1995. It was brought to the Wii's Virtual Console service in 2009.
The Virtual Console release was once rated by the ESRB for North America, suggesting the game was due to international markets. As of 2011, this has not yet materialised.
Pepenga Pengo was the last first-party Sega Mega Drive game to be released in Japan.
As well as including a port of the original game (the music has been changed in this port to avoid potential legal issues), Pepega Pengo also includes an updated version of the game, with enhanced visuals and sound, improved gameplay and numerous levels.
