Graffiti Kings from Berlin...

So these four Berliner fellas are Erik Mahnkopf, Malte Nickau and two anonymous friends... they were the winners of Popcorn Magazine's graffiti competition "Stylt den Sega Champion Train!" (Style the Sega Champion Train!). This clipping must be from the May 1993 issue of Popcorn Magazine ... in the April 1993 issue, Popcorn readers sent photos of their finished graffiti (yep ... we want scans of those magazines)... these four guys spent two days in Munich decorating the two carriages of the train... =) ...--Asagoth (talk) 05:26, 17 December 2020 (EST)

The two "dorks" in the logo...

I know that there's people here interested in these two guys... whoever they were, or wathever they were called (apparently they had no names)... they were the face of Sega's German promotional campaign (for some time in 1993) that followed the "Wo Ist Mein Sega" campaign... I'm not sure what those guys at Sega Germany in Hamburg were thinking, but those two "dorks" were basically a rip-off of "Wayne and Garth" from "Wayne's World" and even used some of their catchphrases but "converted to Sega"... it was not well received by German youth ... in a study made at the time, some German kids were asked of what they thought about the commercials (one, two) with those two guys... kids reacted negatively, saying that they looked stupid and their catchphrases annoying and embarrasing... that's why these two "dorks" that Sega Germany thought were cool and represented the youth they were supposed to target, didn't last long... source: book "Kinder im Werbenetz: Eine qualitative Studie zum Werbeangebot und zum Werbeverhalten von Kindern" ("Children in the advertising network: A qualitative study of advertising offers and advertising behavior of children") ... we need to get a copy of this book... is full of German secrets...--Asagoth (talk) 17:07, 2 January 2021 (EST)
