''Sega Touring Car Championship Special'' follows in the footsteps of the older ''[[Sega Rally Special Stage]]'' being a specialised version of ''Touring Car'' where players drove inside full-sized vehicles acting as motion simulators. Unlike ''Sega Rally Special Stage'', however, ''Sega Touring Car Championship Special'' was built with a choice of three cars; the Toyota Supra, AMG-Mercedes C-Class and Alfa Romeo 155, with the Opel Calibra being removed entirely from the game. This meant it was possible to race against two other human opponents (making it the only version of ''Sega Touring Car'' to support more than two players), while the footage was shown on three large monitors for spectators to view.

Sega Touring Car Championship Special (セガツーリングカーチャンピオンシップスペシャル) was a special version of the Sega Model 2 arcade game, Sega Touring Car Championship. It first appeared at Kyoto Joypolis on opening day[1], before also appearing at Tokyo Joypolis and Okayama Joypolis.

Sega Touring Car Championship Special follows in the footsteps of the older Sega Rally Special Stage being a specialised version of Touring Car where players drove inside full-sized vehicles acting as motion simulators. Unlike Sega Rally Special Stage, however, Sega Touring Car Championship Special was built with a choice of three cars; the Toyota Supra, AMG-Mercedes C-Class and Alfa Romeo 155, with the Opel Calibra being removed entirely from the game. This meant it was possible to race against two other human opponents (making it the only version of Sega Touring Car to support more than two players), while the footage was shown on three large monitors for spectators to view.

Like the majority of Sega's medium-scale attractions from the 90s, no installations of Sega Touring Car Championship Special are currently known to be in operation - Okayama Joypolis' units were removed within a year of the site opening, the original version went with Kyoto Joypolis upon its 2002 closure, and it was succeeded at Tokyo Joypolis by Initial D Arcade Stage 4 Limited in 2007, fulfilling much the the same purpose but with a newer game.
