Shaq Fu is a video game developed by Delphine Software for the Sega Mega Drive, Sega Game Gear, Game Boy, Super Nintendo and Commodore Amiga. It is a fighting game, starring basketball player Shaquille O'Neal as a playable character. Though it is often praised for its smooth graphics, the game has been the subject of ridicule for its nonsensical plot and bad controls.
Contents
Genesis Version
The Genesis version had exclusives that the Super NES version didn't have. This included 5 more characters, 3 new Stages (The Lab, The Wasteland, and Yasko Mines), and North/South Gate accesability w/o a cheat code. Nezu was also playable. Unfortunately the story mode was made shorter than the SNES counterpart. The Amiga port was based on the Genesis port, but had less music and background animation removed.
Game Gear
The Game Gear version only has 6 selectable characters, no tournament mode, and no voices.
Gameplay
In addition to the attack buttons there is also a taunt button. Special moves can be performed by using a combination of directional pad movements and button presses. Characters in the Game Gear version are: Kaori, Leotsu, Mephis, Rajah, Sett, Shaq.
